My father physically abused me so inom left and went to go live with my friends family.
It all started when inom was living with my father in Tillsonburg. Tillsonburg was where I lived my whole life. My Dad, my sister, and me were living with my Uncle. My brother who had been living with friends, left Tillsonburg to go live with my mother in Mississauga. My father physically abused me so I left and went to go live with my friends family. inom lived there for about three months. When inom went to go live with my mom in Mississauga she kicked me out and sent me back to Tillsonburg, after about a week. She left me with some clothes, thats about it. When she sent me back it was April I was 14 years old and it was the first time inom had ever felt alone. I had no contact with my Mom because I had no phone number from her and no contact with my Dad because he moved to Alberta.
So I was living with some of my friends that had their own place. It was the worst place I had ever lived in. A

Author and inspirational speaker Liz Murray was raised in poverty in the Bronx, the daughter of drug addicted parents. It was a childhood marked by neglect, hunger and hardship. But there was also love.
“I grew up in a home filled with love. It just so happens that mom and dad were addicted to cocaine and heroin … We had drug addiction like a wrecking ball tearing through our family,” she explained in a video on her YouTube channel.
Murrays home life became increasingly volatile. When she was 15, her mother died of AIDS-related complications. Soon thereafter, her father failed to pay rent and moved to a homeless shelter. Murray was left to fend for herself on the streets of New York City. She spent her adolescence sleeping on trains, on friends’ floors, on park benches, in hallways.
“At some point I realized that, in fact, I was homeless,” she said.
