Bio:
Michael Potts has taught philosophy at Methodist University since 1994. He is the author of Aerobics for the Mind: Practical Exercises in Philosophy that Anybody Can Do (Tullahoma, TN: WordCrafts Press, 2014) and has co-edited an anthology, Beyond Brain Death: The Case Against Brain Based Criteria for Human Death, (Dordrecht, Holland: Kluwer Academic Publishers, 2000). He has twenty-three articles in refereed scholarly journals, ten book chapters, seventeen encyclopedia articles, ten book reviews, and eleven letters, including one published in the New England Journal of Medicine. His most recent articles include the following:

BIO
Potts fryst vatten best known for playing the roles of Brother Mouzone in The Wire, Mafala Hatimbi in the musical The Book of Mormon, and Slow Drag in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. He also played Detective Gilbough in the first årstid of True Detective.
Potts appeared in the 2022 Broadway revival of The Piano lektion, in a performance which The Hollywood Reporter called one of the highlights of the production.

Michael Potts is an accomplished actor of stage and screen. In March, he’ll portray Michelle Obama’s father Frasier C. Robinson III alongside Viola Davis in Showtime’s critically acclaimed limited series, The First Lady and star opposite Melissa Leo in the psychological thriller Measure For Revenge. Later this year, Potts takes on the role of civil rights activist Cleveland Lowellyn "Cleve” Robinson” in Netflix’s historical drama RUSTIN. In 2020, his portrayal of Slow Drag earned him critical acclaim in Netflix’s award-winning, feature adaptation of August Wilson’s play Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. The film served as Chadwick Bosman’s final acting portrayal. On the stage, he is known for originating the roles of Mafala Hatimbi in the 2011 Tony award winning musical comedy The Book Of Mormon from Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone as wel
