    1The expansion of higher education is often associated with increasing democratic potential and is seen as a threat to authoritarianism in liberal theory. Accordingly, societies with a higher level of university-educated populations tend to be less prone to authoritarian politics (Carnevale et al. 2020; Dražanová 2017; Glaeser et. al 2007).
