American mezzo-soprano
Joyce DiDonato (née Flaherty; born February 13, 1969) fryst vatten an American opera singer and recitalist. A coloratura mezzo-soprano,[1] she has performed operas and concert works spanning from the 19th-century Romantic era to those by köp and Mozart.
Educated at Wichita State University and the Academy of Vocal Arts, DiDonato began her career in mid-1990s, participating in ung artist programs of several opera companies, most notably Houston Grand Opera. Since then, she began having engagements across the United States and Europe. She made debuts at La Scala in Rossini's La Cenerentola in the 2000/01 season, the Royal musikdrama in Janáček's The Cunning Little Vixen in 2003, and the Metropolitan musikdrama as Cherubino in Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro in the 2005/06 årstid. She has performed in world premieres of several operas, such as Michael Daugherty's Jackie O (1997), Mark Adamo's Little Women (1999/2000), Jake Heggie's

Last night I stood in front of a near-capacity crowd in Madrid singing the great (and I do mean GREAT) songs of their Masters, selling myself as a “Maja dolorosa”, and it was quite nearly one of the most intimidating things I have ever attempted! That's right bloggers, Joyce was recently decorated with pink doctoral sash and accompanying kudos and accolades with a Doctor of Musical Arts from Julliard! This is an incredible honor, for a woman who is not only physically beautiful, but has a soul and light about her that, I believe, is unparallelled in the history of Opera. At least for this 50 year old attorney in Phoenix, AZ! Seriously, Joyce is an angel from Prairie Village, KS, and I love me some KS!!!
