    American actor, director and producer

    Charles Stanley Dutton (born January 30, ) is a retired[citation needed] American actor and director. He is best known for his roles in the television series Roc (–) and the television film The Piano Lesson (), the latter of which earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination. His other accolades include three Primetime Emmy Awards and three NAACP Image Awards.

    Dutton has also appeared in many feature films such as Alien 3 (), Rudy (), Menace II Society (), A Time to Kill (), (), and Gothika ().

    Charles Stanley Dutton was born on January 30, ,[1] on the east side of Baltimore, Maryland. His father was a truck driver and his parents divorced when he was four.[2] He grew up in Baltimore's Latrobe Homes public housing project.[3] In his youth, Dutton dropped out of school before finishing middle school.     Charles S. Dutton is an American stage, film, and television actor and director. He is perhaps best known for his roles as Fortune in the film Rudy and Dillon in Alien 3. He also starred in the television series Roc (–) and House M.D. as the father of Eric Foreman.

    Charles Boydell Dutton (16 August – 5 February ) was an Australian pastoralist and politician in colonial Queensland.[1]

    Early life

    Dutton was born in Singleton, New South Wales,[1] the son of Henry Pelerin Dutton (c. – 30 January ), a Hunter River squatter, and his wife Sophia Hume Dutton, née Bell (c. – 18 August ).[2]

    Politics

    Dutton was a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly for Leichhardt from 23 August to 5 May and sekreterare for Lands from 13 November to 30 August ; sekreterare for Works and Mines from the latter date till 12 December ; and from that date till 13 June sekreterare for Railways[3] in the First Griffith Ministry. At the general election in , Dutton was an unsuccessful candidate for the Leichhardt district. Dutton, who embraced Henry George's nation nationalisation theories, and endeavoured as sekreterare for Lands to give some approximate effect
