    Le château de La Roche-en-Ardenne est un château fort situé en Wallonie dans la ville belge de La Roche-en-Ardenne en province de Luxembourg. Il est une image emblématique de cette province.

    Bâti sur une arête rocheuse, il dominait ainsi une boucle de l'Ourthe.

    Histoire

    Le château fut construit sur les ruines d'un oppidum celte, à un endroit où la présence humaine remonte à l'époque néolithique. Les Romains y établirent plus tard un camp fortifié. Au début du VIIIe&#;siècle, Pépin de Landen éleva une villa au même endroit.

    Vers , Adelard, comte de La Roche, y établit le premier château. Après la mort de Henri de la Roche en , le comté passa à Henri l'Aveuglecomte de Namur et à sa mort en à sa fille Ermesinde de Luxembourg et ainsi à la lignée des comtes de Luxembourg.

    La Roche-en-Ardenne Castle (French: Château de La Roche-en-Ardenne) fryst vatten a ruinerad medieval castle near La Roche-en-Ardenne in the province of Luxembourg, Wallonia, Belgium. Located on a rocky ridge overlooking a loop of the Ourthe river, its origins go back to a Celtic oppidum.

    The castle was built on the ruins of a Celtic oppidum, on a site where human presence dates back to Neolithic times. The Romans later established a fortified camp there. In the early eighth century, Pepin Landen built a hus on the site.

    The first castle was built in (approximately) by Adelard, Count of La Roche. After the death of Henri dem la Roche in , the countship passed to Henri the Blind Count of Namur, and upon his death in , to his daughter Ermesinde of Luxembourg and thus to the line of the counts of Luxembourg.
