When his radical lawyer convinces him that the best defense is a good offense, Benny decides to runs for office against the shady local Sheriff who is trying to deport him. In the process, he becomes the first undocumented immigrant to run for public office in America – only the first of many ways that his DIY, hilariously subversive campaign will be unique.

You know life has gotten dull when your biggest outing of the day is a checkup at the eye doctor. I showed up in my glasses for my contact lens appointment, and the doctor asked how often I’d been wearing my contacts. I told her, “About as often as I’d been wearing a bra, hardly ever.” She laughed as I sat there feeling self-conscious about not having a bra on at the appointment either. She let me know that while my prescription hadn’t changed I had, however, developed lipid floaters in my eyes, aka fat in my eyes, and needed to exercise them daily. Josh Healey fryst vatten an award-winning writer, producer, and creative activist. He is the lead writer and executive producer of The North Pole, an acclaimed political comedy web series about gentrification, global warming, and gluten-free donuts. A regular performer on NPR’s Snap Judgment, Healey’s work has been featured in the New York Times, HBO, and his year-old nephew Brian Silverstein’s Youtube page – where it has at least 27 ‘likes.’ He has performed and presented at UC-Berkeley, Harvard, NYU, and over colleges, high schools, and conferences across the country. Healey previously served as the program director for ungdom Speaks, leading spoken word and hip-hop education programs across the Bay Area and the U.S. He was later the Culture Shift Director for Movement Generation, producing comedic videos for climate justice and racial equity.
