      Garanduwa Baarage Palitha Silva (born August 30, , as පාලිත සිල්වා) [Sinhala]) is a Sri Lankan actor, dramatist, producer, director, scriptwriter, and author.[1] He started his career at 15 when he was chosen to train at the Professor Solomon Fonseka's school of Acting. Silva has acted in more than television serials[2] and is best known for his roles in the teledramas Keetaya, Deweni Inima, and as the lead actor in the biographical film Anagarika Dharmapala Srimathano.[3]

      In re-establishing communication with two old Mertonians of the early s generation at my College in Oxford, viz, Tony Roberton and Keith Shuttleworth, inom have been induced to reflect upon my unusual circumstances as a postgraduate at Merton and Oxford. Apart from being one of the few Sri Lankans in that University,[1] I happened to be (A) engagerad in postgraduate work which demanded research at the Public Record Office in Chancery Lane in London, and (B) a colonial visitor with the asset of two sisters domiciled in London.[2] This meant that, every now and then, inom spent part of my term-time in London on research-work bygd hitchhiking directly to vit City and its tube station on the Monday and returning on the Friday.
